Openscreen invites everyone who loves documentaries to a screening of ‘The Kingmaker’ followed by a discussion with its director Lauren Greenfield led by Frédéric Zeimet. Lauren will join the conversation online from Canada.
After a long pause for our meetings in person, we are happy to announce the first live event of Openscreen on 27 June. It will be part of our Doc & Talk series and it will take place in the charming Kulturhaff Millermoler in Hinkel. The event is organised in partnership with the cultural center as well as with Fru by Georges Schiltz in Rosport.
‘The Kingmaker’ sheds a light on the story of Imelda Marcos, the former first lady of the Philippines. In its core stand the concepts of wealth and power together with the narratives that go with them. It will be interesting to hear more about the work on that documentary and the messages conveyed through its storyline by the director Lauren Greenfield.
The screening on 27 June starts at 16:00 and Openscreen will have a special bus that can take our guests to Hinkel. The point of departure will be at Glacis and the bus will leave at 14:45.
As the screening at 16:30 is now fully booked, we are planning a second one at 18:30 if there are enough people willing. Would you like to reserve a seat? Let us know, get in touch with Openscreen on Facebook or email (info at openscreen.lu).
